Talk Personal Finance – Week 42

It’s been a while since my last Talk Personal Finance post!

Due to lots of inconsistencies in this series, Talk Personal Finance has evolved into a post that comes at a random time when I have some quick updates.

In short, this is always going to be where I talk about my life, personal finance and any updates that I have.

Here is what’s on the agenda:

update

Painting up my condo

I am a home owner for about a month now.

Currently my unit is sitting empty with no tenants as I pop by once a week to work on some of the interior.

Some of the stuff that I am working on before my aunt moves in includes:

  • A repaint of the entire unit
  • A thorough cleaning
  • A polishing and shining of the floors

I will dedicate a post to my unit after all the work is completed and upload some pictures for those interested.

As for rental, I’ve spoke to my aunt and she says that she will move into the unit on the December 1st.

In the mean time, I will keep working on that unit and perhaps even live there for maybe a week or two using a sleeping bag. 🙂

I’m out of the stock market

Now that I’ve emptied out my TFSA and RRSP to fund the down-payment of the property, I will be out of the stock market for the next little while.

Don’t be alarmed if you don’t see any posts on stocks anytime soon.

I have every intention to return to stock investing in the future. The plan is to get back into the market by the year end and to capitalize on the dips after the holidays.

The stock market is an important aspect in my retirement plan.

Although I may not be able to make any investments right now, I will continue to build my knowledge by reading more books on how to invest.

I’ve been thinking of looking into Warren Buffet. Have any recommendations?

My e-book release

If you haven’t already noticed, my first e-book was just released.

This e-book is for those interested in achieving financial freedom but have no idea on how to do it.

I’ve mapped out an easy blueprint that anyone can follow and will guide you in the right direction.
