Talk Personal Finance – Week 34

That’s right! The Talk Personal Finance series is back!

It has been more than half a year since my last Talk Personal Finance and this time it is back on a bi-weekly bases.

If you’re new to my blog, this series is where I rant and discuss about random things that have to do with personal finance and my life. This is also where I give back to the blogging community by sharing my interesting reads in the past couple of weeks.

One of the requirements for the Yakezie challenge is to selflessly promote others and this is part of the reason why I am bringing this back. Without further ado, here are the topics this for episode.

The Yakezie Challenge

It’s been a week since I have accepted the Yakezie Alexa challenge and it has already been quite difficult keeping up with the 2 posts a week. The good news is that I haven’t faltered yet!

My goal for the challenge is to try to bring my Alexa rank to under 1,000,000. I started the challenge at 5,872,687 and to my surprised my rank today is 4,687,349. I am glad that I have made progress. 🙂

Back from my “break”

In May, I have announced that I was going on a financial break as I felt very worn out in life. As it turns out, I didn’t go on that break.

In fact, I’ve been picking up steam and have started to be more productive. Sometimes, it’s just funny how life turns out. I just wanted to say that I am officially “back” from that break and I look forward to sustaining my momentum.

Waiting to close my property

Yesterday, I went to visit the property that I purchased not too long ago and I am extremely convinced that I made a very good investment.

Not only was the property better than I had expected, I could even see myself living there should I decide to stop renting it out in the future. Right now, I am still waiting for my property to close next month. I find it very coincidental that the closing date is a couple of days after my birthday.

Personal finance is quite popular

I am also trying to connect with more like minded people on Twitter the past few weeks. At first, I thought that personal finance was a subject that didn’t appeal to the majority of people.

How wrong was I! To my dismay, there are a lot of enthusiasts and so called “personal finance bloggers” out there. This got me thinking about my own finance journey and what I will have to do to reach financial freedom. It was quite an eye opening experience.
