Is It Time To Quit My Job? – The Exit Plan

If you have been following Million Endeavour so far, you will have already read that I had just started a new job a few months back.

Although the salary is considerably higher in this new position, I have found myself with less time to pursue anything else. It seems like all I have been doing lately is going to work and coming home to sleep. This explains why Million Endeavour isn’t moving along as quickly as I would like it to.

Truth be told, I would be lying if I said that I haven’t already considered resigning from this job already. Quitting my job would mean that I would be left with no income but more free time to work on my financial goals. Despite all of this, I ended up deciding to stick around at this job for a little while longer and here is why:

No Income Stream

As much as I would love to have all the free time to pursue my dream of financial freedom, the truth is that right now I need some sort of income stream to pay for the bills.

I suppose that there is always the possibility of looking for part-time work but resigning from a stable public service position may not exactly be attractive to prospective employers. This doesn’t work out to be all bad. Staying at this job allows me to fundraise for the business ideas that I plan on launching in the near future.

The Exit Plan

How long do I plan on staying in this job? In all honesty, I have no idea. It could be for another few months or a couple of years at the very most. Regardless of the duration, my goals to become financially free in life would mean that I will quit this job sooner than later.

However, before I rush into anything rash, I will first need to have a well thought out plan on how I can slowly transition out of this job. To start, I will first need to find some way to start increasing my passive income stream whether through blogging or some other mean.

Once my passive income stream is equivalent to the salary of a part-time job, I will have no hesitation to quit my current full time job to find a position that requires less hours. In the meantime, I will keep updating this blog to see where I go from here. That’s all I have for now!

Are you stuck in a job that you’re not happy in? I would love to hear what your exit plan is in the comments below!
